Ayahuasca has been used ceremonially in the Amazon for thousands of years. Long before the West had a word for it, indigenous communities were working with this plant as medicine, as teacher, and as a portal to truth.
Even though we don't need validation from modern science for what spirit has been forever, they are now beginning to confirm what these communities have always known. Research points to significant reductions in depression, anxiety, and grief following ceremony.
Ayahuasca is not a quick fix to anything. This master plant teacher is treated with respect and reverence. It is a privilege to sit with this plant in ceremony on the land it comes from.
This retreat takes place within a living Amazonian healing center built over decades by Maestro Juan Flores Salazar, a legendary Asháninka curandero whose teachings and lineage continue through the community he created. Maestro Juan Flores Salazar transitioned in October 2025. His wife Sandra, a specialized nurse with deep roots in the Asháninka community, now leads the ceremonies and the center itself, supported by the community of healers he trained throughout his lifetime.

Upon arrival you will begin a herb and plant diet, a non-psychedelic tonic prepared by the shaman and her community, taken three times daily. You will sit in two Ayahuasca ceremonies led by the ceremonial team on the land where this plant grows naturally. You will also participate in a Kambo or Huancavi session, a traditional cleansing practice. Between ceremonies there is time to rest, walk the jungle, learn about medicinal plants, and sit in the steam baths of the Shanay-Timpishka, the Boiling River.
Two group calls together before we travel. A personal one on one call with me to prepare, set intention, and ensure you arrive ready.
The final two days are spent together in Pucallpa. No agenda. Space to decompress, be with the group, eat good food, rest by the water, and land back in your body before you return home.

Where exactly is this experience located?
The ceremonial portion takes place in the Amazon Rainforest outside of Pucallpa, Peru, held by an indigenous community and their healing team. The final two integration days are spent together in Pucallpa before you return home.
How do I get to Pucallpa?
You will fly into Pucallpa Airport. Flights to Pucallpa depart from Lima and take approximately one hour. You are responsible for booking your own flights. Once you arrive in Pucallpa, transport to the center will be coordinated for you.
What is the accommodation like?
The center offers comfortable cabin accommodations nestled within the jungle. Each cabin has a single bed with mosquito net, a small table, chairs, and a private bathroom with shower. Accommodation is shared. A private room upgrade is available at an additional cost. The integration days are spent together in a private house in Pucallpa. Both are included in your investment.
What should I pack and prepare before arriving?
Full preparation guidelines will be shared with you before the retreat, including dietary recommendations, what to bring, and how to prepare your body and mind. You will not arrive without knowing exactly what to expect.
Do I need prior experience with Ayahuasca or plant medicine?
No. What matters most is your intention and your readiness. The application and interview process is designed to help us understand where you are and whether this experience is the right fit for you at this time.
What language are the ceremonies conducted in?
The ceremonies are conducted in Spanish and the indigenous language of the community. English support will be available throughout.
Is Ayahuasca safe?
When approached with proper preparation, screening, and ceremonial guidance, Ayahuasca is considered safe for most people. This experience is held by an experienced indigenous healing team with decades of practice. This experience does not replace professional medical or psychiatric care. Always consult your medical provider before participating.
What medications are contraindicated with Ayahuasca?
Ayahuasca contains MAOIs which can have serious interactions with certain medications including SSRIs, antidepressants, antipsychotics, and blood pressure medications. If you are currently taking any of these medications it is essential that you disclose this on your application. In some cases participants have been able to join after working with their medical provider to safely taper off certain medications in the weeks prior to the retreat. This must always be done under proper medical supervision and is evaluated on a case by case basis. Never discontinue any medication without first consulting your doctor.
Are there health conditions that would prevent participation?
Yes. People with a history of psychosis, schizophrenia, or bipolar disorder are not able to participate. Certain heart conditions, recent surgeries, and other physical health factors may also prevent participation. All health information is reviewed individually during the screening process.
What happens after I submit my application?

Is the deposit refundable?
No. Due to the intimate size of this container and the preparation involved, all deposits are non-refundable. We encourage you to be fully certain before committing.
Can I join if I am not from the US?
Absolutely. This experience is open to people from anywhere in the world. You are responsible for arranging your own travel to Pucallpa, Peru.
What integration support is provided after the retreat?
Two group integration calls are included, one a few weeks after returning home and one the following month. Each participant also receives a personal one on one integration call with me. Private integration coaching packages are available for those who want continued support.
